Should the Advertising Standards Authority be able to deal with the last load of garbage? Does dream pub refer to the potential nightmare your life will become once you take it on? It is a real shame. £50k a year is an absolute travesty. Charles Dickens could not have made up a company or character more grasping. And I note that the beer is still coming from Greene King, at a suitably targeted rate to screw over the potential landlord.

My,my I am a cynical whinging git today.

Glad the overflow pipe has at last been sorted... and even more glad about the cracking ale available at the moment!

Overflow pipe hasn't been fixed... dripping again yesterday. GK aren't going to fix it, they are going to wait till they get new people in there and get them to do it. Tom/Hailey are there for at least another 6 weeks apparently.

Ah. Oh well, dripping is better than pouring, which is what it was doing for the last few weeks, leaving a streak of ice for people to slip on. They obviously take health and safety and not wasting resources as seriously as our dear parish council.

Overflow was peeing merrily on 24th when I popped in. The cracking beer was mostly the 'bright lager, horse urine' variety that the young folk prefer, although the 'Guince' was rather nice. Did the atmosphere pick up after 7pm when I shuffled back to the good lady? (probably waiting for the git nursing a pint to go before the party started?)

What ho. Had a draught of the Adnams Oyster in the Crown with my good lady on Saturday late afternoon early evening. The place was throbbing beer relaxing fun and frivolity. Not been in for absolutely ages. Thoroughly enjoyed by us both. Mmmm - Oyster - ahhhhhh !

The D&D seemed a might quiet by comparison. Think on balance preferred the Crown.

And another new manager is in.  Charlie (female) and Aaron (sp?).  Both seem jolly friendly and lively, with some ideas about getting the old place going again.  Had a few beers in there last night with some usual Wednesday night suspects- Guinness was good, Stella was good, and IPA, once the barrel had run out and been changed, was good too.

Food is starting up again Wednesday evening. Not sure about lunchtimes yet.
